About Legends of Atoll
Legends of Atoll is a fantasy web series inspired by the long running live stage show, Dungeon Master. The show is set in the magical world of Atoll, and follows a ragtag group of adventures.
Ardek, Tanrissa, and Hughland band together to unearth rare treasures, defeat evil, and ward off stupidity. Though allies in favor of self preservation, these unlikely heroes, and even more unlikely friends must battle warrior skeletons, vicious thugs, talking carpets and the folly of each other if they hope to survive. Their ultimate goal of staying alive is seriously put in jeopardy when they unknowingly aid in the escape of “The Endless One,” a powerful dark sorcerer that was imprisoned many years before.
Wrought with humor, action, adventure, and plenty of magic, Legends of Atoll promises to deliver the traditional staples of a great fantasy saga.
Many of the members of the close knit cast have been working together for years, and as most of the actors thrive on Improvisation, the unknown is always liable to pop into our productions.
Legends of Atoll would not have been possible without the support of our generous backers. We appreciate you all more than you know.
About Dungeon Master
Dungeon Master is a role playing game staged in a theatre using actors as monsters and characters.
The show is totally improvised by both the cast and the audience. Each week, a new scenario is written which provides the framework for an adventure, but what is said and what happens on stage is often quite unexpected.
The adventuring party is chosen from audience members who submit their name before the play starts. The party is supplied with costumes, weapons (foam of course), the use of ten spells (which must rhyme) and given a task which must be completed in the allotted time.
Meanwhile, the rest of the audience can cheer for the heroes…or the monsters. The choice is yours.
Dungeon Master opened in Los Angeles on September 7, 2001 at the Magicopolis Theatre, presenting a bold new adventure each week. The production has been requested at numerous gaming conventions in the LA area over the past several years and is currently appearing at the Write Act Repertory in Hollywood.
The show was originally developed at the Organic Theater Company in Chicago by veteran actor Bruce A. Young (Jurassic Park 3, Phenomenon, The Sentinel). It was first produced in 1983 and ran for four years performing for more than 30,000 people, in over 200 different episodes. Now a brand new cast and crew hopes to emulate that same experience in Los Angeles..
The ensemble company provides a living backdrop for the show. The skills required to perform in this format are many – mime, stage combat, dance, singing, improvisation and rapid costume changes are just a few of the talents used during a typical performance. Lights, special effects, music, sound, pyro-technics, laser optics and more combine with the acting ensemble to ensure a complete evening’s entertainment.
Dungeon Master is not something you can prepare for – you don’t know if you’ll be selected to be on stage, and when you are on stage, you don’t know what’s going to happen. And you’ll never know who will show up as part of the Dungeon Master ensemble. Clancy Brown (Shawshank Redemption, Starship Troopers), Tim Russ (Star Trek Voyager), Garett Maggart (The Sentinel) and Billy Campbell (Rocketeer, Once and Again) are just a few of the celebrities that have joined in the fun and mayhem. Even the audience might hold a few surprise guests, ready to rescue the Princess and save the Kingdom.
Dungeon Master is not just a show, it’s an experience – it’s your world, play it!
